Membership
There are lots of benefits to being a member
Tyneside is very much one Club, but within the Club there are several sections which members can join to pursue their preferred golfing and social interests. Tyneside has developed a unique pathway to Golf Club Membership from the Juniors, Intermediate, 5, 6 and 7 day memberships and within all of that a section to meet all needs.
Ladies section
Tyneside has a thriving Ladies section comprising of players with a wide range of handicaps and competitions are varied to suit all abilities. Medal and Trophy competitions are scheduled for Thursdays and Sundays and social golf can be booked anytime through the Club booking system, with reserved times for Ladies on Monday and Thursday mornings.
The Ladies team compete in the Durham County Anderson League and there are many other County and Club events in which to play.
The Ladies section has its own Committee to manage its affairs and they are very active not just in the enjoyment and promotion of Ladies’ golf, but also in providing social events and activities. New members are always welcome and are guaranteed a warm welcome to Tyneside Ladies Section.
Gents section
This is the largest section within the Club. During the golfing season major trophy competitions are played on Saturdays. These are very competitive and regularly have up to 200 entrants. Other handicap qualifying competitions are played during the weekdays in the form of a mid- week medal or Stableford competition. For those who prefer a friendly four ball there are tee times available on Sundays and throughout the weekdays.
Seniors section
This section can be joined by members over the age of 55. It is a thriving group within the Club and its members meet regularly to play social golf as a group. There is a well established fixture list playing against other Clubs throughout the season and an annual four ball better ball knock out competition. The section has its own Secretary, Captain and Vice Captain and is most welcoming to new members.
Junior section
Junior golfers of all ages are welcome to join the Club by becoming a member of this section. Ages range from as young as 5 up to 18. Junior coaching is available through our Professionals and many of the best golfers in the Club and several players on our teams have come through this route. There is a short course within the main course, played off blue tees, to accommodate the younger player. As Juniors progress there are competitive matches against other Clubs, played on the full course. At 18 juniors can progress to intermediate membership, at much reduced fees.
Lifestyle
Lifestyle membership is a low cost, points based form of membership which allows play up to 52 weeks a year for just over £10 per round depending on day and time of play.
