Local Rules

1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 27-1)
a) Beyond any fence, hedge, wall or white stakes forming course boundaries.
b) At the 11th & 12th holes in or beyond the trench indicated by white posts.
c) At the 15th hole to the right of the white posts or any area beyond.
d) At the 16th hole on or over the road or any area beyond the road.
e) At the 18th hole on or over the road or any area beyond the road.
Note - For d) & e) the specimen local rule in Decision 27/20 is in effect.
f) The professional’s shop, the clubhouse, gardens, rockery and steps and the top and middle car parks.

2. OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 24)
a) Stones in bunkers are moveable obstruction (Rule 21-1).
b) Chains and posts around trees and / or greens are immovable obstructions. (Rule 24.2).
c) Stakes trees and those marked with blue tape or paint are immovable obstructions and relief MUST be taken under Rule 24-2b(i).
d) Relief from immovable obstructions is obtained under Rule 24-2.
e) Immovable obstructions close to the putting green. The specimen Local Rule page 130 in the Rules of Golf applies.
f) All artificially surfaced roads and paths, including that area of the bridle path between the green posts on the 2nd and 14th holes are immovable obstructions and relief is obtained under Rule 24-2b(i). All other paths are integral parts of the course and the ball must be played as it lies or declared unplayable (Rule 28).
g) The water troughs on the 8th fairway and behind the 4th green are immovable obstructions (Rule 24-2).
h) Stone-filled drainage ditches or channels to the left of the 17th fairway, beginning of the 10th fairway are immovable obstructions (Rule 24-2).

3. WATER HAZARDS (Rule 26)
a) Ordinary water hazards are indicated by yellow stakes or defined by yellow lines (Rule 26-1a & 1b).
b) Lateral water hazards are indicated by red stakes or identified by red lines (Rule 26-1a, 1b & 1c).

4. GROUND UNDER REPAIR
a) Copses identified by blue stakes are ground under repair from which play is prohibited. If such a copse interferes with a player’s stance or the area of his intended swing relief MUST be taken as prescribed in Rule 25-1(b) or 1(c).
b) Relief without penalty is available if a ball lies in a deep rut on the“right of way” track to the left of the 6th hole (Rule 25-1(b) applies. There is no relief, without penalty, from stance on this area.

5. PRACTICE (Rules 33-2c)
On any day of a stoke play competition, or between rounds, practice is permitted on the designated practice putting green situated between the 17th tee and the 18th green. During normal play this is a wrong green and Rule 25-3 applies.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE
MATCH PLAY - LOSS OF HOLE.
STROKE PLAY - TWO STROKES.
