19/05/08 Executel backs TGC
Leading North East communications firm Executel is throwing its weight behind Tyneside Golf Club by becoming a corporate sponsor.
Gateshead-based Executel - whose MD, Tim Price is a keen golfer and long-standing member of the club - has signed up as corporate sponsor for the next 12 months.
Of the decision to back the club, Tim Price said: "Like most people I want to turn up and play golf and expect the course to be in pristine condition. However, enabling myself - and others - to do this takes a lot of time and investment behind the scenes which many don't realise.
"Tyneside Golf Club stands out as one of the premier courses in the North East and I have been fortunate enough to enjoy its high standards for the past 20 years or so. It would therefore be a travesty if this gem of a facility was now allowed to drift so I've decided to give something back.
"I met with John Cushnaghan and Ian Thompson whose enthusiasm and desire for the continued success of club is admirable and we have agreed a sponsorship package that hopefully gives the club time to develop its commercial potential and achieve the goals that it has for development over the next couple of years."
