Daniel Thompson Junior Captain 2008
I am 18 years old and in my first year studying Mathematics at Newcastle University. I enjoy playing golf regularly at Tyneside and my current handicap is 11. I play predominantly for fun but also enter competitions. As well as golf, I enjoy playing cricket and socialising with friends.
Tyneside Golf Club is a very welcoming place to be and senior members are very encouraging and helpful towards juniors. The course is always in excellent condition, even when weather conditions are poor.
Sam "Burns Up" Whickham!

Well done to Sam Robinson who won not only the best nett but also best gross when he played in a Durham County Junior Golf Society event recently. Sam was playing in the D Green and J Crombie trophy at Whickham and returned an incredible 73-16=57 nett. Sam is a regular player in Junior competitions and this is his biggest win to date. His handicap adjustment also means that he can now play in senior club competitions!
Monthly Medal No. 1
Well done to Chris Harvey who won Monthly Medal Number One. His Nett 65 got the better of an excellent Gross 70 by James Surtees on countback.
